Tools for participation

The Student Participation Unit has developed a programme of short training modules aimed at academic group representatives, members of student organisations and members of student councils who are currently holding office during the current academic year.
Any member can sign up, but some training sessions are specifically recommended for certain groups; this is indicated in the course description.
These sessions will provide you with the tools to fulfil your role and participate actively in the representative bodies of which you are a part.
Mental Health Workshop
Entity in charge of training: Area of Basic Psychology
Date: 20 and 27 of October 2026
Hours: 1.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.
Location: Reception area at the Resource Centre
The objectives of the workshop are to improve interpersonal communication, especially when there is emotional distress, and to learn to identify warning signs of mental health risk.
There will be two sessions, the first focused on empathic communication and the second on warning signs of psychological distress and available resources.
First-time delegate basics

Date and time: 22 October from 10 a.m. to 12p.m. or October 29 from 1.30 p.m. to 15:30 p.m. (day of your choice)
Location: Reception area at the Resource Centre
Training where the delegates who are in office for the first time will learn about the tools and resources provided by the Community Invigoration unit and some practical knowledge about the degree that will help them to carry out their functions correctly.
Recommended for delegates from the Academic Group.
Preventing violence in leisure activities

Training designed to provide organisations and student's councils with the tools they need to set up a ‘lila point’ for their activities.
Recommended for members of the organizations and members of student councils.
System of scholarships at Catalan universities

Training that has the purpose of teaching how the scholarship system works in Catalan universities, what scholarships are available, how to apply for them or what are the requirements that are requested.
Language rights and duties of UAB students

This training aims to show what governing and representative bodies exist within the UAB, who makes them up, their functions and how delegates can participate.
Recommended for academic group delegates and members of student councils.
Language rights and duties of UAB students
Entity in charge of training: Language Promotion Unit of the Language Service
Date: 17 December 2026
Location: Reception area of the Resource Centre
Hours: 1.30 to 3.30 p.m.
Session where concepts such as vehicular language, linguistic security or linguistic transparency, sometimes unknown to students, will be discussed. The tools and channels that the university community has to communicate to the university in cases where their linguistic rights and duties are being violated will also be presented.

Assembly of sound equipment and sound reinforcement for events

Training workshop on diversity and equality
A training session to reflect on diversity and the representation of student groups, and to identify the barriers that may hinder participation. Through exercises and real-life case studies, we will explore tools to make spaces, communications and assemblies more inclusive.
