Esperanto is an international language created at the end of the 19th century to facilitate communication between people from different cultures. Easy to learn and still alive today, it is spoken by an international community that organizes meetings, congresses and numerous cultural activities, also linked to the values of linguistic diversity, fraternity between peoples and linguistic justice.

In Catalonia, the Joventut Catalana d’Esperanto (KEJ) promotes the dissemination of Esperanto language and culture, and this year organises a series of workshops at the UAB to get started in Esperanto from a practical and intercultural perspective.

Through participatory sessions, games, conversation activities and debates, you will learn the bases of language while reflecting on linguistic diversity, linguistic rights and international communication. The course is complemented by activities such as round tables, a virtual meeting with speakers from other countries and optional cultural proposals, which will allow you to discover an active international community and a new way of understanding the relationships between languages and cultures.


What will you find?

· Eight participatory learning sessions of Esperanto.

. Debat Debates on diversity and linguistic rights.

· Group dynamics, cooperative games and conversation activities.

. Interaction with speakers from other countries.

· Optional cultural activities related to the history of Esperanto.
