The UAB Student Societies welcomed the international students

The UAB Student Societies have organized a set of activities during the International Welcome Days to receive the students who came for the second semester and get them acquainted with the activities that can be done at the university.
International Welcome Days, 21 22 february
The international students just arrived to do their exchange during the second semester and they participated in the International Welcome Days (IWD). This is an event, which took place from February 3rd to 13th, in which the UAB Student Societies organized a set of activities to receive the newcomers and get them acquainted with the university community and the activities in which they can participate throughout their stay.

During these days, ESN announced in an act the activities addressed to the international students that they have prepared for the second semester and they also organised a walk to make them know the university campus. In addition, this society offered a Catalan brunch, to make them know the Catalan gastronomy.

The newcomers could also taste food from other cultures at the International Lunch, where the UAB Mentors participated too. Besides that, the Mentors joined the international students in the Tandem, an activity where students could practise languages and socialize, and in a tour around Barcelona, that end up in a picnic in Ciutadella park.

AIESEC offered a game about the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals in order to show to the students the task that this society does regarding these goals.

ChessUAB and CRUAB organized chess and Catan games opened to all of those that were interested. Swing UAB, Ganàpies and Centaures offered open rehearsals and pieces of training to show their activities and encourage the attendants to participate.

In this way, the international students could enjoy the International Welcome Days while meeting other students both foreign and local.

Within
