The 6th edition of the Cursa de la UAB in support of the TV3 Marathon, which took place on 13 December, was a complete success despite the low temperatures. This year's winners of the 6.4 race were Iván Limia Boo and Estefanía Chamorro Padilla, and there was also a 45 minute walk around campus. Technology consultants STP Group were this year's sponsors for the race.
The Open Days, which will take place on 6, 7 and 8 February on campus, will include 200 talks in different centres on almost 100 bachelor's degrees offered by the UAB in the next academic year.
UAB Prehistory researchers participated in a study which points to a quicker than previously thought mixture between and integration of local hunter-gatherers and newly arrived farmers from the Middle East. The study verifies an intense and complex interaction of ancient DNA lineage circa 5500 to 4500 BCE.
On 16 November, the Friends of the UAB Association will celebrate their annual event with awards for Ana Ripoll, Josep Font, Antonio Franco and the CREAF. The Library and Social Council awards will also be given.
