Awareness campaigns and trainings

Awareness and training activities

From the FAS we understand that the university must generate, channel and promote emancipatory knowledge processes, committed to Human Rights and Global Justice. For this reason, since 2017, the UAB Refugee Programme includes actions to raise awareness, training, mobilisation and impact in the field of forced displacement, from an intersectional gender perspective based on Human Rights.

In line with the methodologies and approaches of Education for Global Justice, actions aimed at:

  • Strengthen critical knowledge about forced migration and provide action tools in terms of social participation inside and outside the classrooms
  • Improve university practices in the field of reception and academic approach to migratory phenomena, from an anti-racist and decolonial review
  • Promote the diversity of knowledge, including the participation of groups, social movements and entities in the field of migration, asylum and human rights; as well as experts linked to UAB Refugee grants

In this way, throughout the academic year, activities aimed at the entire UAB community (students, teaching and research staff, technical and management staff, administration and services) are articulated:

  • Awareness actions in public spaces of the UAB (Talks, exhibitions, cinema forums, information stands, performance)
  • Training: workshops in bachelor's and master's degree subjects, seminars and courses with academic credit recognition
  • Specific training for PTGAS and PDI of the UAB
  • Communication campaigns, preparation of reports and pedagogical materials
  • Networking spaces at the UAB, as well as with other Catalan, state and international universities, specialized entities and public administration
