The UAB team wins the First Lego League's national championship

The Fsingenium Team FLL - Barcelona UAB is the winner of the First Lego League (FLL) national championship, held online this past weekend with the participation of 63 teams. The team was formed by secondary school students from Navarra and was also the winner of the FLL challenge held at the UAB School of Engineering in February.

The winning team, formed by 12 to 15 year-old students from Navarra, were invited to participate in the challenge organised by the UAB in February. It was one of the two finalists and was able to classify for the national championship in representation of the UAB.

The Fsingenium Team FLL-Barcelona UAB won the national championship of the First Lego League - organised by the Cabildo de Tenerife, INtech Tenerife and Fundación Scientia - which was held online this past weekend, and which include the participation of 63 teams from 40 different challenges held in different cities of Spain.
 
The winning team is made up of students from the town of Sarriguren, Navarra. In February, this same team won the challenge organised by the UAB School of Engineering, which enabled them to go on to the final competition. The members of the team are students aged 12 to 15: Marina Sarría Uriz (who additionally collaborates on the UAB School of Engineering's website), Adriana Prado Santamaría, Guillermo Prado Santamaría, Álvaro Ojer Prado, Liam Murphy Álvarez, Iker Gorostieta Manrique, Eki González Flamarique, Ignacio Casado López, Ana Díaz García and Álvaro Muñoz González.
 
The final competition was meant to be held in Tenerife in March, but the Covid-19 pandemic made it impossible, so the organisers decided to hold it online. A total of 63 teams participated, all finalists of the First Lego League challenges held previously in different parts of Spain. Also participating in this final was the Thaunologiks team from the  de Thau Sant Cugat school and the Eureka Team from the La Vall de Sabadell school, both of which had also received prizes in the challenge held at the UAB.
 
In the final championship, the "Cabildo de Tenerife" second prize went to the team Legotronic Beavers-FLL Navarra; and the "INtech Tenerife" third prize went to the team Fedac Coolest Wolvineers-FLL Vic.

Challenge Held at the UAB

The FIRST Lego League challenge held at the UAB took place on 8 February 2020 and included almost one thousand attendants throughout the challenge's duration. This was the edition with the greatest number of participants since the UAB began holding the challenge on campus. A total of 39 teams and 354 students between the ages of 10 and 16, from different primary and secondary schools, participated in this edition in which the focus was put on the manaement of urban spaces, the CITY SHAPER. Of special importance was the presence of 8 teams with 80 students from the social programme run by Fundación Scientia.
