The UAB implements internal information system and passes a renewal of its Code of Ethics
On 12 July the UAB Governing Council passed the implementation of its Internal Information System, accompanied by the renewal of its Code of Ethics.
The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona held its Governing Council meeting on 12 July, in which it passed the implementation of an internal information system with the aim of protecting people who report regulatory and anti-corruption infractions. This decision goes beyond the requirements established by the new Law 2/2023, of 20 February, regulating the protection of complainants. The UAB has created an Ethics Channel, an electronic communication tool that can be used to submit reports of regulatory infringements and guarantees the protection of complainants.
The implementation of the system includes the updating of the University's Code of Ethics and the creation of various tools to facilitate communications. The Ethics Channel is accessible through the UAB transparency portal and offers the possibility of submitting an anonymous or identified report. The tool provides a code for complainants to track the status of their communications.
The UAB Audit Unit is responsible for receiving communications and, if necessary, referring them to the competent bodies for investigation. The confidentiality of communications and the anonymity and indemnity of complainants are guaranteed.
The UAB is committed to improving the operating procedure for the management of communications from the Ethics Channel after the evaluation of the first months of operation, with the aim of guaranteeing its effectiveness and efficiency.
