The UAB among top 100 in twelve subjects

The UAB ranks 21 worldwide in Veterinary Medicine and is among the top 100 in eleven other subjects, according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject.

The British company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) recently published the results of its fifth edition of QS World University Rankings by Subject, in which it classifies the top 200 universities in the world in 42 subjects.
 
The UAB ranks 21 in the field of Veterinary Medicine, an improvement of two points with regard to the 2015 edition, and finds itself amongst the top 100 universities in the areas of Archaeology, Modern Languages, Agriculture and Forestry, Geography, Environmental Sciences, Physics, Anthropology, Communication and Media Studies, Education, Economics, and Business and Management Studies; four more subjects than last year.
 
The UAB is among the top 150 universities worldwide in the subjects of Philosophy, Mathematics, Sociology and Statistics; and among the top 200 in English Language and Literature, History, Medicine, Pharmacology, Psychology, Chemistry, Geology, Accounting and Finance, Law, and Politics and International Studies.
 
The QS World University Rankings are considered one of the most prestigious rankings in the world, next to the Times Higher Education and the Academic Ranking of World Universities of Shanghai. In this year's edition, a total of 4,226 universities were evaluated in 42 disciplines, six more than in the 2015 edition.
