The Healthy and Sustainable Week, which this year took place from 4 to 8 April 2016, is one of the main events of the Campus SiS project, which aims to promote among the university community healthy, sustainable and environmentally-friendly habits from different points of view (personal health, mobility, environment, etc.). This event is part of the UAB Healthy and Sustainable Campus, which intends to support the University’s commitment to promote this type of life-style.

During this week, activities such as talks and workshops about these issues have taken place. These activities, proposed and designed by students (as a way of horizontal learning) promote the participation of the UAB’s staff.

One of the activities organized by students, which were a great success, was “The dynamic brain runs to change the brain”, by David Costa, which took place on 6 April at 12 pm at the Sala d’Actes in l’Àgora. This activity looked into how physical activity modifies cognitive abilities (memory, attention, etc) and executive functions.

With the talk “Allergens in food and its labelling”, which took place on 7 April at 12 pm at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, gave information to raise awareness about the allergens in the food that we eat every day and how to identify them in the labelling.

Also, UAB student societies, such as Swing, Centaures and Ganàpies organized workshops related to the activities that they usually do in the campus.
