15M
Next Tuesday May 15th will take place at the Autonomous University of Barcelona a political event in commemoration of the 7th anniversary of 15M. This will begin at 1:00 pm in front of the Resource Center for Student Facilities and will consist of a round table with different speakers. The organizing entities are three groups of political character (AEP, JCC, JCPC) with the collaboration of the Community Involvement Unit of the UAB.

The debate/conversation will be around the experiences of the different speakers and their ways of participating or analyzing the 15M movement with the intention of answering the questions of what 15M meant, where it has taken us and if it will be an emancipating movement.

The entities that promote this activity are three political groups that form part of the associative groups of the UAB, among them there is a union, the Association of Progressive Students (AEP), and two youths of political parties, Communist Youth of Catalonia (JCC) and Young Communists of the Catalan People (JCPC).

The initiative of this commemoration towards 15M is based on the importance of social mobilization in those days of May 2011. 15M transformed political mobilization, made it more direct and more incisive, more participatory, more open and more transversal, but these new forms of political participation can also be understood as volatile, understanding that without organization there is no revolution.

Given the importance of this citizen mobilization, the invited speakers are experts who lived in the first person the political and social atmosphere that was breathed in those days, and have followed closely the subsequent initiatives and projects that have been created since that culmination of public interests. Thus, the speakers are: Miguel Ardanuy, responsible for participation of Podemos; Isabel Sierra, activist and politician members of Podemos; Oriol Arcas, responsible for the training of Communists of Catalonia and Marina Puente, responsible for the agitation and propaganda of Catalan Communists - PCPE. Each of them will talk about their experiences around the 15M movement, the squares and the mobilizations and reflect on what has been left of that moment, what we have learned as a society, what we have to promote and what we should avoid.

We go back to the squares! Next 15M, come to the Resource Center for Student Facilities and participate in the debate!
