Resolucions del Fons de Solidaritat 2015
The 32nd call of the UAB Solidarity Fund has approved ten university development cooperation projects promoted by teaching and research staff in different areas of knowledge. Six of these projects will be carried out in countries of the South and four initiatives will promote development through education in UAB studies.

According to the philosophy of the call, in the line with cooperation with countries of the South, the call has supported inter-university development cooperation projects aimed at strengthening the universities and their research in developing countries counterparts. Projects that included long-term collaboration and showed the capacity of having multiple effects and long-lasting effects in terms of human and sustainable development have been specially appreciated.

Regarding the six projects approved in this line, they include actions for education, applied research and technical assessment in the areas of health, socio-economic development and environment, among others. All of them will start in 2015 and they will be carried out together with university centres from Philippines, Uganda, Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil.

In the line of development through education, what was really appreciated here were proposals aimed at promotingintegration of contents and tools with perspective of development through cooperation in UAB studies. Four initiatives have been approved regarding the following topics: access to sustainable energy, preservation of biodiversity, development through communication and fight of indigenous peoples.

On the other side, the first term for application for the E2014-2015 call has approved five projects promoted by postgraduate students (diploma, MA, PhD). These projects are directly related to the studies of the beneficiaries and they will be developed in Nepal, India, Mexico, Ecuador and Uruguay. The second term for application will end on 30 June. Regulations and application forms for both calls are now available in this link.
