The Drafting Committee of the new UAB Statutes has completed the preparation of a proposed document that since 16 February and for a period of one month is available to the university community so that members can make the contributions they deem appropriate.

As stated in the rules on the composition of the Drafting Committee, the procedure and deadlines for the development of the Statutes of the UAB approved in the Extraordinary Senate on 13 July, the Drafting Committee is responsible for submitting a draft amendment of the Statutes that will be exposed in a participatory process to the entire university community so that they can make their contributions. Therefore, this draft will now be submitted to a participatory process open to the university community, through the Transparency Portal of the UAB. The university community has a period of one month to submit the contributions it considers relevant.

These contributions will be dealt with by the Drafting Commission, which will present the work and proposal resulting from the participatory process for debate and discussion in a first session of the Senate. Subsequently, the Drafting Commission will prepare a final draft of the Statutes which, together with any amendments that may be required, will be voted on in a second session of the Senate. The proposed reform of the Statutes must be approved by an absolute majority of its members.

The drafting of new statutes is a requirement established for the deployment of the Organic Law of the University System (LOSU), which came into force last April. For this reason, inJuly the UAB Senate approved the composition of a drafting committee and its operating rules. In the section Drafting new UAB Statutes on the intranet you can access all the information about this process (composition of the commission and working groups, documentation, open participation, etc.), which aims to achieve the consensus of the entire university community.
