New campus activities offered on 13 December

On 13 December from 1 to 3 p.m., the UAB has programmed a series of activities on campus so that centres, services and organisations can offer them to all university students. No lectures will be held during those two hours.

Students

The Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Biosciences will be holding three conferences on the recent Nobel Laureates. At 1 p.m., the conference hall in Building C will offer a conference by Ramón Alibés, lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, entitled "Connectant molècules jugant a LEGO"; followed by a conference by Antonio Barbadilla, lecturer in the Department of Genetics and Microbiology, entitled "Svante Pääbo: en busca de genomas perdidos"; and Morgan Mitchell, researcher at the Institute of Photonic Sciences, will close the conference series with "Experimental Tests of Einstein's Realistic Worldview and the Origins of Quantum Technology".

The Faculty of Psychology will organise an analysis and interpretation workshop in violence related to sexual and gender discriminations. The workshop will take place in Aula P24 at 1 p.m. and will include the participation of Christian Díaz-Santos, graduate in Criminology and Psychology and with a master's degree in Legal and Forensic Psychology from the UAB; and Francesc Sañé, graduate in Philosophy and with a master's degree in Applied Philosophy from the UAB. The session will also present a series of debates on male violence which will continue on 15 February with a session on intersectionality by Kenza Benzidan and on 6 March on neo-male chavanist violence by Alejandro Díaz-Sicilia.

Members of the socioeducational mentoring volunteer programme run by the Fundació Autònoma Solidària (FAS) will be at the Plaça Cívica at 1 p.m. to invite students to reflect on the factors leading to a lack of motivation for studying among young people and identify those people who have motivated them or represent a role model for them.

Finally, the UAB Job Employment Service will also organise a free online session entitled Learning to find work using your mobile phone and the UAB-Emprèn space will host the presentation of the AnAPPhylaxis project by Anna Sala, Head of Innovation at the Vall d'Hebron Hospital.
