In celebration of the 175th anniversary of the opening of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the research project "Microhistòria de la música espanyola contemporània: perifèries internacionals en diàleg" of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities and the Societat del Gran Teatre del Liceu have worked together to organise the exhibition entitled "SGTLiceu-UAB: un arxiu a l'abast del món".

Exposició sobre l'arxiu del Gran Teatre del Liceu

The exhibition, commissioned by lecturers Francesc Cortès and Joan Carbonell, displays the documents conserved by the historical archive of the Societat del Gran Teatre del Liceu, which since 2014 has been digitalised by the UAB, with the collaboration of the Humanities Library: posters, stage designs, leaflets, technical and administrative documents, music scores, libretos and art documentation.

The exhibition was inaugurated on 2 March at 12:15 p.m. at the entrance hall of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. The event included a brief presentation by Virginia Luzón, Vice Rector for Communication and Culture, and Margarita Freixas, Dean of the Faculty. A guided tour of the exhibition was then given by Francesc Cortès and Joan Carbonell.

Additionally, the exhibition will be accompanied by a series of conferences and a performance of opera arias which will take place on 22 March at 12 noon, at the faculty's Auditorium. The performances will be offered by Anna Farrés (soprano), Antoni Lliteres (tenor) and Josep Bufron (piano). The recital was organised thanks to a collaboration of the Office of the Vice Rector for Communication and Culture, the Faculty of Art & Humanities, and Cultura en Viu.
