EINA, the University Centre for Design and Art of Barcelona affiliated to the UAB, has opened a new 1,500m2 building, the EINA Bosc. Located on the Carrer del Bosc of Barcelona, within the Collserola Natural Park, it houses workshops and versatile creative spaces open to non-disciplinary experimentation, digital and traditional graphic arts, sets for audiovisual practices and spaces to carry out exhibition and performance programmes.

These workshops and activities have opened now in February,  coinciding with the beginning of the second semester of the EINA bachelor's degree in design. To this end, students will have two facilities available for learning, where they will continue to offer all regular EINA cultural programmes through their Eina Idea and EINA Obra projects. With the expansion of its facilities, EINA aims to meet the increase in students and at the same time offer new possibilities to all members of community: students and lecturers, guest collaborators, businesses and institutions active in the educational and cultural dynamics of schools. In this sense, the expansion is accompanied by an increase in the educational options available at EINA, both in university programmes under the UAB and in EINA's own academic offer. The EINA Foundation aims to strengthen its commitment as a centre with the Sarrià neighbourhood and consolidate itself in its role as a vibrant centre for the community. “We intend to reaffirm our identity and defend our position at the head of the creative scene, at all levels: city, nationally and internationally. This new building represents a huge step forward in the re-establishment of the centre, which began in 2019, and is meant to be the materialisation of values such as the transversality, performativeness, digital tranformation, inclusion and diversity which mark our strategic position”, affirms Miquel Molins, president of the EINA Foundation. The official inauguration of the EINA Bosc building will take place on 1 April, where institutional authorities and members of the creative and business sector will be attending, as well as local and international media channels. The inauguration will be followed by a Spring Festival, which, pandemic permitting, will recover the historical style and tradition of EINA's celebrations.
