Debate on "Rights and Mental Health"

Rights and mental health are the main issues of the debate that will take place on 12 March as part of this year's activities under the slogan "Mental Health at Stake, Let's Win the Match".

On 12 March at 10 a.m. the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Law will host a debate on "Rights and Mental Health". This is the next activity organised under the UAB slogan for the 2023/24 academic year: "La salut mental està en joc. Guanyem la partida" [Mental Health at Stake, Let's Win the Match].

The debate will include the participation of Sandra Camacho, Civil Rights lecturer at the UAB; Beatriz Pérez, researcher of the UAB research group Lis and member of the association ActivaMent Catalunya; Maria Aran, coordinatir of the federation Federació Veus; and Antonio Serrano, coordinator of the association Amb Experiència Pròpia.

The Federació Catalana d’Entitats de Salut Mental en 1a Persona– VEUS is the organisation in Catalonia that brings together people with personal experiences in mental health.

Amb Experiència Pròpia is an association dedicated to mental health that forms part of the Federació Catalana de Voluntariat Social and the Federació Veus, whose mission is to fight stigma related to mental health and raise awareness about this issue.

10:15 a.m. Els drets humans i el poder psiquiàtric en disputa. Beatriz Pérez.

10:30 a.m. Vulneració de drets en salut mental. Maria Aran.

10:45 a.m. Debate moderated by Antonio Serrano.
