The UAB obtains the highest score in 24 of 34 indicators evaluated by the Knowledge and Development Foundation (CYD). The CYD ranking evaluates 73 Spanish universities and is based on the European Commission's U-Multirank.
The UAB ranks third in Spain according to Reuters' World's Most Innovative Universities. It is located in 93rd position in the Reuters News ranking, which assesses patents and the commercial impact of university research.

As partof its 50ty annivesary celebrations, the UAB has decided to award five honorary doctorates to experts from different fields of knowledge: Caddy Adzuba, Marie-Paule Kieny, Jaume Plensa, Joaquim Mª Puyal and Lisa Randall.
Candidates have until 18 May to submit their applications to the call for emeritus and honorary titles for teaching staff in the 2018/19 academic year. Departments and institutes can present applications for professors who have already retired and fulfil all requirements stated in the call details.
