On 16 January Marie-Paule Kieny will receive one of the five exceptional honorary doctorates being awarded this year in celebration of the university's 50th anniversary. The event will be streamed live by the YouTube.
As is tradition, the UAB Choir and Orchestra will offer a concert on 17 December and perform pieces by Edward Elgar, Ottorino Respighi, Felix Mendelssohn and Franz Xaver Gruber, as well as several traditional songs. The event will take place at 2 p.m. at the Theatre Hall (Plaça Cívica).
The UAB Chamber Choir, directed by Poire Vallvé, will be performing on 18 and 21 December in the first representation of the 3rd act of the opera Garraf at the Palau Güell. Under the musical coordination and direction of lecturer Francesc Cortès, the performance will mark the end of the Güell Year 2018. The performance of the Garraf opera was only interpreted once, in 1917, at the Palau de la Música.
David Aguilera, graduate in Humanities; Juan Manuel Agulló, graduate in Biomedical Sciences; and Antonio García, graduate in Business Management and Administration; are the three former UAB students awarded the National Final Project Prize.
The UAB organises an event in celebration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities (3 Dec) which will be held on 11 December and in which the Impuls grants will be awarded and Josep Maria Sanahuja will give a conference entitled "Reptes per avançar per una universitat inclusiva".
On 13 December, the UAB will offer an information session on the Fulbright grants. These grants permit students to spend up to two years at universities in the US and enrol in a master's degree, PhD programme or conduct predoctoral research.
The 3rd edition of the Awards for the best Final Degree Projects of the UAB with a gender perspective will be delivered next Tuesday, November 27. Of the 93 Final Degree Projects of the different faculties presented, 27 will be awarded, divided among four areas of knowledge.
All money will go to cancer research, the disease TV3 focuses on this year. The 7th edition will include new aspects such as a walk around the ALBA Synchrotron and a race through the town of Cerdanyola del Vallès.
