The mobile phone recycling campaign organised by the FAS’s environmental programme in collaboration with the Fundació Mona is up and running once again.

Bústia de Reciclatge de mòbils

As in previous years, the Environmental programme – with all benefits going to the Fundació Mona – has begun its phone recycling campaign. This year the campaign will include a recycling bin installed in the FAS building, where all those looking to get rid of their old phones can collaborate by bringing them to be recycled.

The mobile phones which can still be used will be sent to developing countries, while those already obsolete will be disassembled by the company Eurekamovil and all parts and materials will be reused. This will prevent having to extract more natural resources, which leads to socio-political imbalances, smuggling of materials and child exploitation, in addition to a clear deterioration of the ecosystem and damage to endangered species. Thus, collaborating with the campaign is a good way to reduce the destruction and pollution of the natural environment, as well as exploitation and armed conflicts.

The initiative is carried out in collaboration with Fundació Mona, an organisation located in the province of Girona working to give a home and proper care to rescued primates. All campaign proceeds will go to the foundation.

Your mobile phone can change lives; don’t throw it away, recycle it!
