On Tuesday 1 March the UAB Governing Team calls the university community to observe a minute of silence at 1 p.m., in front of all the different buildings on the campus to show rejection of the military intervention in Ukraine and to call for the resolution of political problems through dialogue and respect for peoples and minorities.

The university community continuously shows its commitment to peace and its rejection to war through its demonstrations and protests. The Catalan Association of Public Universities has issued a statement in which it "firmly" condemns the military aggression taking place and show its solidarity with the people of Ukraine. The CRUE Spanish Universities also issued a statement expressing their support to academic institutions of Ukraine and has announced that Spanish universities intend to "collaborate in every way possible" to help reconduct this situation.

Moreover, the Vives Network of Universities has also given its support to the positioning of the European Association of Universities to "express our solidarity with the 26 higher education and research institutions of Ukraine", as well as offering its support. And the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU) calls out for unity and encourages all universities and European alliances to "offer support to Ukraine and its citizens".
