The UAB ranks 126 worldwide and first in Spain according to the CWUR ranking
The UAB moves up 70 points in the latest edition of the CWUR World University Rankings and now ranks first university in Spain and is part of the top 0.6% universities in the world. The ranking takes into account the academic success of the university’s graduates and prestige of its faculty, as well as research performance.
The 2025 edition of the World University Rankings published by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) places the UAB in 126th position worldwide, 42nd in Europe and first in Spain.
The University received a global score of 81 out of 100, placing it among the top 0.6% universities in the world. By indicators, the UAB stands out for the prestige of its faculty (87th worldwide), the quality of its research (139th) and the quality of its teaching (177th position).
This ranking analyses 21,462 universities from across the globe based on scores that take into account the following indicators and values: quality of teaching (25%), based on the academic success of graduates; employment (25%), measured by the professional success of alumni; quality of its faculty (10%), according to the number of faculty members with top academic distinctions; and the quality of research (40%), based on total number of articles (10%), articles in top-tier journals (10%), number of articles in influential journals (10%), and number of highly-cited research articles (10%).
