The UAB Barcelona Summer School ends with successful participation
The closing ninth edition of the UAB Summer School was held on Friday, August 2, on the campus, next to the Social Sciences Library, with great success of attendance, and consisted of a theatrical performance by a group of students, the organizers' speeches and the awarding of diplomas by the teaching staff.
The closing session of the ninth edition of the UAB Barcelona Summer School, which took place on campus, under the shade of the trees, near the Social Sciences Library, began with the performance of the students from the Urban Performing Arts course, who offered an original and fun theatrical performance, which included music, songs and dances by student actors from countries such as Korea, China, Mexico or the United States, among others.
Next, the vice-rector of Relations and Linguistic Policy of the UAB, Laura Santamaría and the academic coordinator of the UAB Barcelona Summer School, Graham Mortyn, offered a few words of farewell and thanks to all the participants and all the teaching staff.
"After these days that you have lived, I hope that you will continue to be in contact and that the experience has served you to network with each other," said the vice-chancellor. For his part, the academic coordinator emphasized that "there is a word that I really like in the language here, which is 'ganes'. And I wish you that in the future you put a lot of 'ganes', that is, passion and enthusiasm, in everything you do whether at an academic or personal level. It's the key!".
The organizing team of the UAB Barcelona Summer School said goodbye to all the participants and gave the diplomas to each teacher/tutor of each of the courses so that they could give them to their students.
During the last three weeks of this ninth edition, more than 350 people from 58 different nationalities have enjoyed the 16 courses that have been offered on campus during the second period, in addition to a program full of social activities during the last 3 weeks of the program.The first batch had started on June 25 until July 12 and had offered 13 courses.
The UAB Barcelona Summer School - which this year has reached its ninth edition - includes a training offer of degree subjects in a large number of areas, once the ordinary academic year has ended. Most courses are taught in English and students can obtain between 6 and 12 ECTS in two three-week periods.
