The Cultura en Viu Unit opens registrations for workshops and artistic training courses in the second semester
On Thursday, February 1, registration is open for workshops and artistic training courses in the second semester of the 23-24 academic year. The different activities promoted by the Cultura en Viu Unit offer the opportunity to continue learning an artistic discipline with professionals from the sector. All the proposals have reduced prices for members of the UAB community and academic recognition of ECTS credits.
The workshops and courses proposed for the second semester of the 2023-2024 academic year include Initiation to Urban Dance, Voice Technique, Initiation to Theatrical Performance in English, Choir and Orchestra. All the activities are part of three classrooms (Music, Dance, and Theatre) that aim to turn the UAB campus into a constant space for artistic training and creation.
The members of the university community can be part of one of the musical groups that participate in concerts and performances that are organized inside and outside the university campus, such as the UAB Choir and Orchestra. The members of both groups invest a regular dedication, as they participate in rehearsals and concerts that are held throughout the academic year. Likewise, the Music Classroom also offers a Voice Technique workshop that allows students to develop, take care of and enhance the voice.
The workshops of the Dance Classroom are focused on the introduction to urban dance, a set of dance styles of hip-hop culture that are characterized by their expressiveness, energy and rhythm, as well as contemporary dance. Participants will be able to learn the basic steps and the most popular choreographies of these styles, as well as experiment with their own creativity.
The Theatre Classroom organizes different educational, informative and stage creation activities with outstanding professionals. The workshops in this classroom are focused on the introduction to theatrical interpretation in a fun and dynamic way, both in English and Catalan. Students will be able to work on their body, vocal and emotional expression, as well as their communicative and performing skills.
To be part of some groupings, you must take a previous entrance exam. If you want to be part of the Choir or Orchestra, email inscripcions.cultura@uab.cat before February 12. In relation to the rest of the workshops, it is necessary to register online on the website of Cultura en Viu, where you have a section dedicated to each workshop, and you can find there the details in specific (hours, prices, description) and the registration forms.
