Each and every one of Catalonia's public universities has worked hard to be able to begin the 2020/21 academic year complying with the measures that make universities safe places. Nevertheless, given the evolution of the pandemic in the past few days, the Public Health Department recommends that the Catalan university system take quick and effective measures to limit the mobility of students, and thereby contribute to containing the rising number of COVID-19 infections across Catalonia.

Following these recommendations, the Inter-university Council of Catalonia has agreed to transition from face-to-face classes to online classes from 15 to 30 October. All other activities will continue to be conducted with the necessary protection measures. The presence of lecturers and administration and services staff will be determined by each university, which will adapt them to the needs of each of their activities.
