On Sunday 28 February the students of the Faculty of Communication Studies experienced in a very special way the ceremony of the 88th Academy Awards, hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Far from being just a screening, the faculty hosted a ceremony throughout the night, organised by the Òrgan Coordinador de l'Alumnat (OCA).

Thanks to the support of the current office of the vice dean, the full collaboration of the members of the faculty (students, professors and PAS), and, especially, thanks to the effort and dedication of all OCA volunteers it was possible for the more than 200 attendants to enjoy an unforgettable ceremony.

All the activities came to life because of the participants’ elegance and willingness to get involved. The attendants were able to prove their knowledge in a cinema contest, participate in a round table, take pictures at a photo call, walk on a red carpet of more than 60 meters, take their bets on the winners and, above all, they were able to enjoy the live ceremony in an extraordinary environment. The faculty, as well as the attendants, dressed up for the occasion.

During the commercial breaks there were activities to live up the night. While in Hollywood the ceremony paused, here we enjoyed an acoustic concert by Àlex Gibert, a Kiss-Cam, our own awards ceremony for everyone who made the event possible and a crazy real-life Oscar, among others.
