During the week of 19 October, 23 participants from 14 countries (Germany, Bhutan, Slovenia, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Norway, the Netherlands, Portugal, Switzerland, Ukraine and Cyprus) took part in a programme of workshops organised by the International Relations Office at the Bellaterra campus.

Offering an opportunity to experience the UAB firsthand and immerse themselves in the multicultural environment of Barcelona, the event featured a wide range of workshops, group activities and networking opportunities for participants to exchange best practices, including partners involved in International Credit Mobility projects.

In addition, participants enjoyed a variety of social activities designed to foster networking and team cohesion. These included a visit to the Palau de la Música Catalana and the opportunity to discover one of the most emblematic symbols of Catalan culture, the castellers (human towers), at close range.

This year, the International Staff Week focused primarily on the management of Erasmus+ projects and coincided with an ECIU meeting on community building and mobility support, bringing together staff members from the alliance’s member universities.

Since Monday, participants have engaged in discussions on the Erasmus+ Programme, internationalisation strategies and the management of international relations. Other topics addressed included mobility between Programme and Partner Countries, Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs), international university networks, and digital services supporting students and university staff.

Today, as the International Staff Week 2026 comes to a close, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona bids farewell to participants at an institutional event held at Casa Convalescència, followed by a visit to the Recinte modernista de Sant Pau.
