The International Welcome Days are a week of activities aimed at international students at the UAB: ranging from trying out traditional dishes from each country, taking lessons in swing dance or human towers, to picnicking in Ciutadella Park.

On Wednesday, 16 September, in the Plaça Cívica there will be an International Lunch, in which students bring along typical dishes from their country to share.
From 14 to 19 September the International Welcome Days (IWD) are under way: a week full of activities aiming at welcoming the international students who have come to study at the UAB in 2015/2016. The aim is for these students to get to know the UAB campus, services and associations, and meet up with other international and local students, to help them get off to a good start here.

The IWD kicked off on Monday the 14th, with the fair to introduce the UAB's student associations and services. Here, the newcomers could find out about all the activities planned for the year and sign up for them if they wished. Next on the agenda was the welcome session in the UAB Cinema, with contributions from Lluís Quintana, Vice-Rector for International Relations, the Language Service, Fundació Autònoma Solidària and the Community Activation Group, who explained what activities they have planned for the international students this year. The international students filled the room to overflowing, which meant the session had to be held twice over.

One of the main activities this week is the International Lunch on Wednesday 16th at 1.30 p.m., where international students and local students on the Mentor programme bring along typical dishes from their country to share. There will also be sessions to introduce the Erasmus Student Network and Tandem, the programme that sets up language exchanges between local and international students.

The last activity, on Saturday, is a picnic in Ciutadella Park in Barcelona, where students can meet up in more relaxing surroundings.
