On 8 March, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. the volunteers involved in the Health Programme of the Autonomous Solidarity Foundation (the FAS) will set up an exhibition at the Plaça Cívica on occasion of the International Women’s Day. The exhibition will display the photos and stories of 16 outstanding women known for their work in the academic and research world. However, it is often the case that history—imbued with our hetero-patriarchal system—forgets about these remarkable women. In this regard, the volunteers of the FAS seek to vindicate their significant role. The exhibition tells the story of Jane Godall, Margaret Hamilton, Maruja Torres, Nouria Benghabrit, Agnes Heller, Carol Gilligan and many others.

Moreover, yet another year the volunteers involved in the Health Programme of the Autonomous Solidarity Foundation (the FAS) will set up the "Xiringu" and will conduct activities related to gender and emotional health at the Plaça Cívica. Other topics will be discussed such as sexuality, drugs and food. Those taking part in the activities will also be reflecting on motherhood, family-work balancing, professional success, the importance of women as benchmark figures, the aesthetic pressure, the model of beauty, etc.
