ExponaturaUAB 2018 Photo Contest

EXPONATURA UAB 2018 is a photo contest organised under the framework of the 4th Research Workshops of the Department of Animal Biology, Plant Biology and Ecology and is aimed at all members of the UAB community. All those interested in participating in the contest have until 20 May to send in their images. All photos will be on display on Thursday 7 June 2018 at the Glass Hall of the Faculty of Biosciences and awards will be given to the three best photos on that same day at 5:30 p.m at the faculty's conference hall (Sala de graus).

The first photo contests focusing on nature date back to the 1986-1989 period. In those years, a group of PhD students interested in nature photography organised a contest with the collaboration of the Faculty of Sciences and the Office of the Vice Rector for External Relations and Campus.

In 2016, almost 30 years after the first editions, the Department of Animal Biology, Plant Biology and Ecology decided to recover this initiative and almost 200 images were sent in by members of the university community interested in participating. Last year, a total of 226 photos were sent in by 118 participants.
