Esther Zapater appointed president of the CIC's Women and Science Committee

The Inter-University Council of Catalonia (Consell Interuniversitari de Catalunya, CIC) has appointed Esther Zapater Duque, secretary general of the UAB, president of the women and Science Committee.

In addition to Esther Zapater, the UAB will be represented at the Inter-University Council of Catalonia by Maria Prats, director of the UAB Observatory for Equality.

CIC Women and Science Committee

The Women and Science Committee of the Inter-University Council of Catalonia is one of its non-permanent committees. The Committee works for the effective equality of men and women in the field of higher education and research.

It is made up of one person representing each of the Catalan universities; the person who is the Secretary General of the Inter-University Council of Catalonia or the person delegated by him/her, who also acts as secretary of the Committee; one person representing the Directorate General for Universities; one representing the Directorate General for Research; one representing the Institution of Research Centres of Catalonia (I-CERCA); one representing the Catalan Research Centres Institution (I-CERCA); one representing the Agency for Quality Assurance in the Catalan University System (AQU Catalunya); one representing the Agency for University and Research Grant Management (AGAUR); the person who is the executive director of the Catalan Institute for Women (ICD), and the person of reference in gender equality issues in the field of universities and research in the ministry responsible for universities.
