Contest for the composition of a science podcast's theme song

As part of a science dissemination projection, the UAB opens the first call for the composition of a theme song for a science podcast. The contest is open to all members of the university community and applications can be submitted from 7 May to 5 June. The winning these song will be announced during the second week of June.

The Theme Song Composition Contest was created with the aim of bringing science closer to the non-specialised public, as well as explaining and disseminating knowledge, culture and scientific thought. For this reason, it is a project aimed at all members of the university community, who can submit their proposals free of charge.

The works submitted must be original and unpublished and meet the following requirements: only one type of composition, lasting from two to four minutes composed exclusively with music (no lyrics), they can be collaborations, each participant can submit different proposals, and the piece submitted must include a WAV file and, optionally, a PDF file with the composition memory, recording and relevant information of the piece.

The author of the winning theme song will be able to use the AudioLab facilities (Faculty of arts & Humanities) to make the recording that will be used in the edition of the podcasts within the framework of the science dissemination project. The project will be inaugurated in September 2023 in a Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya train carriage. In addition, they will be able to take part in training workshops on audiovisual creation offered by the Convent de Sant Agustí Civic Centre (Barcelona). To participate in the contest it is necessary to fill out this registration form.

Within
