Award for Dolors Udina's translation of Huxley's "The Devils of Loudun"
In this year's City of Barcelona awards, in the category for Translations into Catalan, Professor Dolors Udina will be awarded for her work on Aldous Huxley's novel The Devils of Loudun. The jury praised the "vivid and precise" language used by Professor Udina to translate a novel "of enormous complexity".

Professor Udina holds a degree in Modern and Contemporary History. She has directed several literary translation workshops in different Barcelona libraries and since 2005 she is member of the editorial council of the translation journal Quaderns. She forms part of the Jordi Arbonès Chair since its creation in 2003 and of the Study Group on Contemporary Catalan Translation. At several International Days of Translation and Interpreting, held yearly, she has given conferences on Jordi Arbonès and translation in exile. She also presented the 2010 edition, dedicated to Joan Sales. Her lines of research are the study and practice of translation from English into Catalan from 1939 to 2000.
