The UAB to hold La Comunitària and Researchers' Night on 5 November
The UAB reschedules two activities that were postponed due to weather conditions and will now be held on 5 November. The autumn edition of La Comunitària will take place at the Plaça del Coneixement and at the Sabadell Campus, from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. And from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., the Espai SiS will be hosting the European Researchers' Night.
The speech by Ana López, student of the double degree in Physics and Chemistry and the Mathematics degree, will kick off La Comunitària. The UAB is dedicating this 2026/27 academic year to Catalan culture, and for this reason, this year's autumn edition of La Comunitària will be opened by Ana López, member of the UAB's Club Alpí and the Escuradents bastoners group.
At "La Comunitària," the university community will be able to enjoy an Entities Fair featuring a wide range of activities hosted by the various groups, student councils, and services that make up the UAB. In addition, there will be shows and performances, such as the traditional castellers (human tower) display by the Ganàpies group and a sardana dance presented by the Agrupació Sardanista of Cerdanyola del Vallès.
The European Researchers' Night is a public event dedicated to science popularisation, organised every year in more than 300 cities across 30 European countries. The aim is to bring research, innovation and the people involved closer to audiences of all ages in a simple and entertaining way. Starting at 4:00 p.m., the UAB will host a research fair featuring workshops, demonstrations, games, and short talks with researchers from the University and the research institutes of the UAB Sphere.
The NitRecerCat2627 project is associated with the European Union’s MSCA and Citizens initiative—part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (HORIZON-MSCA-2025-CITIZENS-01)—and involves the collaboration of a consortium comprising the University of Girona (UdG), the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), the University of Barcelona (UB), the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal), the University of Lleida (UdL), the Rovira i Virgili University (URV), the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC), the Equitat.org Foundation, and the Catalan Association for Science Communication (ACCC), which is responsible for communication and the coordination of the various nodes.
