All set to start the second edition of the UAB Community Choir
The second edition of the UAB Community Choir, aimed at the PDI and PTGAS groups of the UAB, opens its registration period until 15 February for those interested in becoming members. The choir, which will be rehearsing from February to April, forms part of the “Art and Wellbeing at University” research project, aiming to demonstrate that singing in group can improve personal and social wellbeing, reduce stress and strengthen ties between members of the university community.
The registration period will be open until 15 February for those interested in signing up as a member of the UAB Community Choir, an innovative experience that was launched this past semester. This community choir is open to members of the UAB’s PDI and PTGAS groups and forms part of the art and wellbeing project “Art i Benestar a la Universitat” (BENES 00024, AGAUR). The objective of this project is to demonstrate through research that singing together with others can improve personal and social wellbeing, reduce stress, and strengthen ties among members of the university community.
This second experience will take place during the second semester and consist in eight rehearsals and a final concert. Rehearsals will take place on Wednesdays, on 18 and 25 February; 4, 11, 18 and 25 March; and on 8 and 15 April from 1:45 to 3:00 p.m. at the Faculty of Education. The concert will be held on Thursday 16 April at the UAB’s Theatre Hall as part of the activities offered during the Health and Sustainability Week.
Choir members will work on their voice and body at each rehearsal, as well as sing in group and meet in an environment that fosters relaxation, creativity and interacting with others.
