The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Cerdanyola del Vallès City Council, in collaboration with the EMD Bellaterra and sponsorship of the University of Barcelona and Applus+ Laboratories, organise the UAB Solidarity Run in support of the La Marató de 3cat. The race will take place on Sunday 14 December and all donations will go towards cancer research.

This year's Marató de 3Cat will be dedicated to the dissemination and promotion of cancer research, one of the main causes of death in Catalonia and around the world. Thanks to research much progress has been made in the survival of those affected. However, cancer continues to be one of the main causes of death in the world, given the increase in people affected by this disease.

The fourteenth edition of the UAB Solidarity Run, in support of the La Marató de 3Cat, will take place on Sunday 14 December 2025 starting at 10:30 a.m., and will start and finish at the Vila Universitària.

There will be four participation modalities: two races of 11.6 km and 6 km, a 6 km walk and a walk for people with reduced mobility of 480 metres. The itineraries will be the same as the 2024 edition.

The organisation aims to make that Sunday morning on campus a place filled with federated runners, amateur athletes, families, staff, faculty and university students who, with their participation, contribute to a charitable cause like the one proposed each year by La Marató.

The UAB calls for the collaboration of volunteers for the logistics and organisational tasks necessary for a sporting and solidarity event of this magnitude, which will be coordinated by the Fundació Autònoma Solidària (FAS).

In the last edition, held on 15 December 2024, an all-time record was reached with a total of 35,579.54 euros raised, which were allocated to research into respiratory diseases. Of the 13 editions of the UAB Solidarity Run, never before had so much money been raised. This was made possible by the 1,500 people who participated by running or walking, the more than 50 volunteers who collaborated, and the companies and entities that sponsored this charitable event.

The UAB Run forms part of the Catalan University Sports' University League of Popular Races.
