The high schools that participate in the Ítaca Campus are responsible for selecting the participating students, according to the requirements and criteria established by the program coordination. They also monitor the academic trajectories of the students, in order to evaluate the impact of the program on their post-compulsory academic future.

The city councils are responsible for validating the selection of students, ensuring compliance with the requirements and criteria. Previously, they also advise and accompany the high schools in the selection process. In addition, they make a financial contribution that makes the participation of students from their municipality possible.
