On 9 December, as part of the ULALABS project, the UAB's CircuLab will host the conference ‘Children and Participation in Inclusive Urban Transformation: Co-creation and design processes to rethink our cities', which aims to promote dialogue and reflection on the role of children's participation in transformative innovation processes within smart cities.

The event will explore how children can play an active role in co-creating and designing sustainable urban spaces that integrate meaningful learning about sustainability, technologies, and renewable energies. The focus will be on children as community agents who can identify needs, challenges and opportunities in their everyday environment, such as their neighbourhood, school, play spaces and social spaces, and participate in co-design processes alongside adults, social organisations and public administrations.

Speakers at the event will include Professor Johana Montalvan from the University of Stavanger (Norway), an expert in child participation in urban innovation processes and smart cities, and Clara Borràs from the UAB's CircuLab, who will share her approach to participatory and eco-design processes.
