The session will take place on 16 October at 9:30 a.m. at the Sala de graus of the UAB Faculty of Arts & Humanities. The symposium will reflect on and debate the relationships between history and theatre in the Iberian Peninsula during the 20th and 21st centuries.

The day will begin with a presentation by Pau Casanellas, director of the CEDID-UAB, and Francesc Foguet, director of the CRAE-UAB. Next, two central talks will take place; at 10:00 a.m. the session "What Are We Talking About When We Talk About Memory?" by Ricard Vinyes, professor of History at the University of Barcelona, who will speak on the concept of memory; and, at 10:40 a.m., the session “Memorabilia and Theatre: Bonds and Affects in the Construction of Heritage” by Antonia Amo, lecturer of Hispanic Studies at the University of Avignon, who will address the relationship between memorabilia, theatre, emotions and heritage. Also included are ten further talks, five for each century, which will address more specific approaches to the link between history and theatre from the perspective of the peninsula's stages.
