The latest discoveries on the first farming societies of Upper Mesopotamia, in Iraqi's Kurdistan region, were recently presented. The area had been closed off since the 1990s to archaeological research and the UAB is the only research team from Spain working at the site.
The UAB is now one of the centres which next year will organise the SIELE exams, the first online certificate foreign students can obtain to demonstrate their mastery of Spanish.
The archaeological dig campaign at La Almoloya began recently with the UAB Prehistory researchers who in 2013 revealed the archaeological wealth of this Bronze Age site located in Murcia. The campaign will last three months and some 15 UAB students will be taking part.
The auditorium of the Rectorat building was filled to full capacity in the investiture of Margarita Arboix as the new rector of the UAB.
