Santo Astorino is the winner of the UAB Jocs Florals. He won with the poem “El mundo enfermo” (The Sick World), inspired by the lockdown we are experiencing. In his second Erasmus in Barcelona, he gave an interview to talk about how he is living this situation and the price he has been recently awarded as the winner of the contest.
ICREA researcher at the UAB Rebekah Clements has coordinated the launch of the first online database of the Imjin War, the largest war fought in the 16th century. This resource aims to be of great value to researchers specialising in the history of East Asia.
The competition will begin on 4 June at 10 a.m. at the UAB YouTube. The event will be streamed live and will consist in ten PhD students who will have a maximum of four minutes to defend their thesis. At the end of the competition the jury will select the two best thesis and all those attending will be able to vote for the thesis they liked best.
According to a study by the UAB Centre for Demographic Studies, vulnerability to COVID-19 in Spanish provinces is due to the larger or smaller proportion of younger and older people, and to cohabitation patterns.
