The Christmas Concerts at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona will take place on 16 and 17 December and will be streamed live. This year's health crisis and restrictions has forced the university to present one of its most significant annual traditions in a new and atypical format. The UAB Choir, Chamber Choir and Orchestra will offer concerts on the Cultura en Viu and UAB Campus Media websites, and will be recorded at the UAB Theatre Hall.

The UAB Choir and Chamber Choir (both directed by Poire Vallvé) will take place on Wednesday 16 December at 3 p.m. with a variety of songs being performed. The choir will interpret traditional and modern songs by authors such as Silvio Rodríguez. The chamber choir will perform ‘Cantares’ by Joan Manuel Serrat and Antonio Machado, with arrangements by Liliana Cangiano.

The concert offered by the UAB Orchestra will take place on Thursday 17 December at 1:45 p.m. The stable group is directed by Jesús Badia and will interpret two very different pieces: the Symphony No. 83 “La Poule” (all four movements) by Austrian composer Joseph Haydn, and the soundtrack of the film Cinema Paradiso by Italian composer Ennio Morricone.

The full programme can be consulted at the Christmas Concert Programme. For anhy questions or more information please contact Cultura en Viu at cultura.enviu@uab.cat.
