The UAB to host the 1st Conference on Social Responsibility of Universities
The UAB Office of the Secretary General, in collaboration with the Office for Commitment and Community, has organised the First Conference on Social Responsibility of Universities, which will take place on 13 June from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Carles Perelló Room of the Graduate and Doctoral Schools. Representatives of the 12 university institutions of Catalonia will participate.

During the conference, the deployment of university social responsibility (USR) in universities in Spain and the good practices being developed in higher education institutions will be discussed, as well as the updating of university guidelines on human rights due diligence.
The institutional welcome, at 10 a.m., will be given by UAB rector Javier Lafuente. UAB Secretary General Esther Zapater, and by Xavier Gabarrell, vice-rector of Campus and Sustainability will also participate. Afterwards, Òscar J. González, lecturer and researcher of the Engineering and Responsible Management research group at the University of Burgos, will speak about the development of USR in Spanish universities and Maria Prandi, founder and CEO of Business Humans Rights, will speak about management updates related to USR. After a break, at 12 noon, there will be an exhibition of good practices carried out in universities.
