TransMedia Catalonia, a research group of the Faculty of Translation, focuses on the study of media accessibility and particularly that of high-risk sectors of the population

The "la Caixa" Foundation holds an annual call to fund projects focused on reflection and dialogue on human development and sustainability. This year's winner is the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting's research group TransMedia Catalonia, for its project entitled ATRAC. The winning proposal aims to foster a debate among different agents working with the reception of migrants and thereby study the effect new technologies have on this process, with an interest in new models of interaction for all parts involved.

ATRAC will become a reality in May 2021 thanks to two workshops which will be offered to provide the intial requirements for the implementation of a digital contents platform to be co-created with local communities. The workshops will include the participation of young migrants, several social agents and individuals with audiovisual strategies that can be applied to the project's study area.

ATRAC's final activity will be held in June 2021 with an international debate open to all parties involved, where members will present the challenges and opportunities identified during the previous activities.
