ECIU offers international training in Poland for lecturers
The Capacity Building work group of the ECIU (the UAB’s European alliance), led by Silvia Blanch, lecturer in the Department of Basic, Developmental, and Educational Psychology of the UAB, organises a new edition of the Overcoming Drop-Out & Shaping Evaluation micro-module, which will take place from 22 to 26 September 2025 at the Lodz University of Technology, Poland. The course is open to UAB lecturers and researchers (PDI) and applications can be sent in until 30 June.

The micro-module, entitled Overcoming Drop-Out & Shaping Evaluation, will offer tools and strategies to address school dropout and improve evaluation systems in educational contexts. The contents focus on early detection of at-risk students, dropout prevention and building more inclusive learning environments. Principles, tools and techniques to identify subtle signs of difficulty (such as decreased performance, lack of participation, or signs of emotional distress) will be discussed and practical, evidence-based solutions to support at-risk students will be proposed. The goal is to equip participants with knowledge and strategies to prevent dropout from a proactive approach.
The course offers the opportunity to share experiences with lecturers from other European universities belonging to the ECIU network and acquire evaluation tools to help students advance in an environment that is better adapted to diversity. At the same time it allows participants to discover the city of Lodz, with a rich industrial history and a great cultural vibe.
The course is free and two places are reserved for UAB lecturers.
Participants also will have access to the Teacher Hub, the ECIU’s collaborative online support area for lecturers, offering resources, complementary training and an active community focused on educational innovation and challenge-based learning (CBL).
