The European Association for International Education (EAIE) will be holding its 32nd annual international university conference in Barcelona this September. The city had been designated for the 2020 conference  but has had to wait two more years because of Covid-19 to host the event. We are hoping that this year’s conference will enjoy the same level of participation as in the past.

EAIE Barcelona 2022

From 13 to 16 September professionals in higher education from all over the world will have the opportunity to learn more about the Catalan university system first hand, as well as to exchange experiences and working methods in different areas of the profession. According to the organisers there are over 200 activities planned.

While almost all events will take place at the Fira de Barcelona trade fair arena, the UAB's Bellaterra campus will have its own chance to shine by forming part of the “Campus Experience” on 13 September 2022. The UAB is currently putting the final touches to the tour and the visits. Those attending will be able to see the UAB Open Labs, the European Ecological Life Support System Alternative (MELiSSA) project, which is led by the University, as well as innovations in higher education teaching driven by the UAB.

Also, related to the conference there will be the UAB Partner’s Day, where representatives of partner institutions of the UAB will be able to meet informally to exchange ideas and professional practices. The meeting will take place on Thursday 15 September at the Casa Convalescència in the modernist Sant Pau complex in Barcelona.

In collaboration with the Catalan university system, the UAB has been an active participant in the organisation and planning of this year’s conference, which will certainly be the biggest and most important it has hosted since the pandemic began.

You can see the official programme at the EAIE website.
