Imatge reflexions 3 + 2
On 12 May, the Vice-rectorate for Students and Cooperation, together with the UAB Student Council (CEUAB) and Community Involvement Unit, organise a thoughtful and informative conference in which the new educational model known as 3+2 will be discussed. The event will take place at the UAB Cinema from 4 pm to 7 pm and there will be four different round tables.

The first conversation will introduce the topic and it will be about the general aspects of the implementation of the educational model known as 3+2. Specifically, it will be focused in the access, financing, structure of studies and the requirements of the labour market. The three following round tables will focus in problems and issues related with the different studies. The round table 2 will be dedicated to Arts and Social Sciences, the round table 3 will reflect on Social and Legal Sciences, and the round table 4 will be about Science and Biosciences.

The educational model known as 3+2 is the last reform by the Spanish Government and the Ministry of Education, José Ignacio Wert. This reform comes just when the Bologna Process finishes its implementation and it is supposed to start functioning during the next academic years, although it will not be binding and therefore the universities will be able to decide if they apply the reform or not. This new educational model changes bachelor’s degrees from four years to three years, and master’s degrees from one year to two years (in most cases), which will possibly raise the price of studies. Additionally, the new educational model could mean the disappearance of a series of specialized bachelor’s degrees.
