The research project Mobile Identities: Migration and Integration in Transnational Communities, the object of this seminar, is financed by the European Commission and its main purpose is to assess the impact of current policies promoting temporary/circular migration in different countries of the European Union by citizens of third countries, and the welfare of these citizens.

At a moment in which migration policies in Europe are in the spotlight, the objective of this seminar is to discuss and propose recommendations for each country and for Europe in general which focus on programmed and non-programmed circular migration. The seminar will include the participation of different European partners: Istituto Psicoanalitico per le Ricerche Sociali (IPRS, leader of the project), Rome; University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands; University College London, UK; Christiches Jugenddorfweek Deutschlands, Hamburg; the Institute of Government and Public Policy (IGOP-UAB, responsible for the project in Spain) and the Univerzita Mateja Bela, Slovakia.

There will be several researchers and experts from the area of social and migration policies, such as Professor Hachemi Bentahar from the Universitat Mohammed I (Morocco), Raffaele Bracalenti from the IPRS in Rome, Peter Nijkamp from the University of Amsterdam, Sandra Wallman from the University College London, Markus González Beilfuss from the University of Barcelona, Margarita León Borja (Director of the project at IGOP-UAB), Eva Østergaard-Nielsen from the UAB, Estrella Gualda from the University of Huelva and Joan Subirats from IGOP-UAB. Participants from the non-academic sector will include delegates from the Italian Ministry of the Interior and Pia Eliza González, representative of the Italian association of foreign workers.
