The Theater Interpretation workshop premieres the play "On the Phenomenon of Bullshit Jobs", by Joan Yago
On Thursday, May 15, in a double session at 3:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., the members of the Level 1 Theater Interpretation group from the UAB Theater Workshop, directed by Màrcia Cisteró, will present the play On the Phenomenon of Bullshit Jobs by Joan Yago, which explores absurd and unconventional situations in various jobs.

The performing arts series Escena UAB continues on Thursday, May 15, with the premiere of the new production by the Theater Interpretation Workshop, directed by actress Màrcia Cisteró.
The 16 members of the introductory theater workshop at our University have stepped into the shoes of the characters from this play, originally premiered in 2015, and have explored the absurd and unconventional situations that arise in various jobs which, according to the author’s text, are considered "bullshit jobs."
The production they present, On the Phenomenon of Bullshit Jobs, by Joan Yago, offers a snapshot of the contemporary labor system, giving shape to the reflections of anthropologist David Graeber in his essay On the Phenomenon of Bullshit Jobs. With a touch of humor, the play raises a series of questions such as: What is work? How does it help define individual identity? What is expected of it? And why do we dedicate such a significant part of our lives to it?
Catalan contemporary playwright Joan Yago (Barcelona, 1987) is one of the founding members of La Calòrica, a theater company known for its ambitious and socially engaged productions that tackle serious issues with a sense of humor.
