The 5th Research to Understand Fair connects the University with surrounding schools through educational research
On 4 June the Faculty of Education of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) held the fifth edition of the Research to Understand Fair of the Network of Schools, a day in which to evaluated the connection between the university and surrounding educational centres through inquiry-based learning.

This fair, promoted by the Institute of Education Studies (ICE) of the UAB and coordinated since its inception by Albert Díez (ICE), has become a reference space where children and teachers share experiences and research projects developed in the classroom. The Network of Schools, made up of schools committed to innovative methodologies such as research capsules, promotes collaboration among education professionals and fosters critical and participatory teaching.
During the day, children from different schools in the vecinity of the UAB (Enric Casassas School, Teresa Claramunt School, Espronceda School and Joan Sallarès i Pla School, from Sabadell; Primavera School, from Santa Coloma de Gramenet; Miquel Martí i Pol School, from Barberà del Vallès, and La Florida School, from Santa Perpètua de Mogoda) presented their projects to the educational community in an open exhibition. The projects showed the curiosity, analytical skills and cooperative work of the students, in a day marked by enthusiasm and creativity.
During the event, Vice-Rector for Teacher Training and Innovation José Luís Muñoz Moreno stressed that “this fair is a clear expression of the UAB's commitment to transformative education, which connects the university world with the reality of schools and promotes a culture of research from the early stages of education”. ICE Director Edelmira Badillo stressed the importance of this type of initiative to generate “meaningful learning spaces, where students are the stars of their own process of investigating”.
With this fifth edition, the fair consolidates its role as a meeting point between schools and the University, reaffirming the commitment of the UAB and the ICE to promoting educational innovation and socio-educational transformation in the surrounding areas.
