The MEMEnginy fair, a meeting point for young talent and companies in the ICT and engineering sector, will take place on Thursday 24 April at the School of Engineering. The event will welcome nearly 1,500 students and 80 companies in its 11th edition. It will also host conferences and activities that will focuse on aspects such as AI, smart cities, data, blockchain technology, supply chains and cybersecurity.

The technology congress will foster meeting between between students and companies thanks to the help of AI and more than a thousand speed interviews will take place.

This year will include a pilot project to accompany neurodivergent students, who will receive the support of specialists during the job interviews.

The MEMEnginy fair, organised by the Student Council of the School of Engineering with the support of the direction of the School of Engineering and the UAB, will bring together on 24 April some 80 companies in the information and communication technologies (ICT) and engineering sector, mainly from the Vallès region, as well as some 1,500 students.

The main objective of this technology fair is to bring young university talent closer to companies in these sectors. That is why one of the main activities of the day is focused on companies being able to interview throughout the day students who previously registered for the activity and showed interest in some of the companies.

In this year's edition, and as the main novelty, students who will meet face to face with companies will have previously taken a training programme to prepare their CV, improve their presence on LinkedIn and learn how to make an elevator pitch. In addition, they will have also gone through a process in which AI has evaluated their personal and professional skills. These will be preliminary steps to prepare students and to discover their profile in more detail, information that is provided to companies, and that will help to significantly improve the success of these meetings.

Another new feature of this year's edition is the launch of a pilot project to accompany neurodivergent students with specific needs. A team of specialists will provide support to them during the interviews so that they can transmit their full potential when facing professional challenges. A thousand quick job interviews are planned to take place throughout the day, which represents an increase of almost 100% compared to the 2024 edition.

Moreover, companies such as Deloitte, SEAT, NTT Data, Semidynamics, Boehringer Ingelheim, Roche, Schneider Electric España, Grifols and Seidor will have exhibition spaces where they will present the full range of possibilities they offer in the work environment.

MEMEnginy's activities are completed with different conferences that will deal with aspects of maximum interest such as AI adapted to both logistics and the chemical and environmental industry, smart cities, data, blockchain technology, supply chains and cybersecurity.

Another novelty of this year's edition is the MEMEnginy's mascot, a chameleon. This emblematic reptile has been chosen for its ability to adapt to different environments, reflecting the values of flexibility, innovation and constant evolution that characterise MEMEnginy and the values it represents.

A leading technological congress within the university world

MEMEnginy will celebrate its eleventh edition this year. Since its creation, it has evolved to become one of the largest technological congresses in the Catalan and state university environment. The first edition took place in 2014. One of the main particularities of this congress is that the students themselves, with the help of the School, organise and promote the MEMEnginy fair. What started as a small event with only 4 companies and 50 students has been experiencing an exponential growth throughout all these years that has catapulted it to have 80 companies and the participation of the 1,500 students who are expected to attend the current edition.
